Blogophilia Week 30.15 – The Road is Life

This is Week 30 in Year 15 of Blogophilia! Hope you Earthlings are staying warm down there!

Which road will you take??

*************************************

When are you gonna come down?
When are you going to land?
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man
You know you can’t hold me forever
I didn’t sign up with you
I’m not a present for your friends to open
This boy’s too young to be singing the blues

Ah, ah-ah, ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah

So goodbye yellow brick road

Where the dogs of society howl
You can’t plant me in your penthouse
I’m going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods

Hunting the horny-back toad
Oh, I’ve finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road

“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John

Jack Kerouac once said “The Road is Life,” and we couldn’t agree more. Sometimes our road takes long and winding path. Other times we approach a fork in the road and must choose which way to go. If you’re lucky, you’ve got the sun on your face and the wind at your back! Let’s go on a little road trip and see where it takes your muse this week!

Last week’s topic “Where Do Dreams Go?” was submitted by our beloved, departed Honored Blogophilian Bettie Davis! What a wonderful topic for the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr! We miss you dearly, and know you are smiling down on us from above.

Last week’s bonus prompts were submitted by Lika Saliscente-Phipps and Elaine Chaix! We thank you both for your awesome contributions!!

Last week’s picture was submitted by Christine Wichman! Thank you for the dreamy photo that went well with “dream” and “wish” and inspired great writes!

Easy Bonus: Reference getting stuck in the mud

Blogs should be submitted on or before Midnight (EST), Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11 EST!! Please TAG Martien Ecrits by including his name within your blog content. In doing so, your blog will show up on his timeline. You may also post your blog link in the comment section below and/or post your blog link on the group Ecrits Blogophilia page.

There are no longer any guesses for the topic, bonus prompts or picture submissions, nor points awarded for any of these. As stated in our relaunch blog, the Blogophilia challenge has eliminated point scoring, tallying, tracking and awarding jackets. We have moved to a kinder, gentler blogging group that is no longer a competition based on points. Instead, we aim to be inclusive, collaborative and encouraging of writers!!

So what are you waiting for? Start Writing!!!
