Blogophilia Week 5.15 – What to do With Nosy Neighbors

HELLO ALL! This is Week 5 in Year 15 of Blogophilia!

Oh boy, this should be a fun topic!! Do you have nosy neighbors? What do you do about it? ORRR…. Maybe you are a nosy neighbor yourself! Are you obvious or incognito? Who are you spying on and what are you trying to find out? We at the Marvin House are feeling nosy and want to know all about it, haha! Or if you aren’t a nosy neighbor, use your imagination and come up with a story or poem with a wicked twist. The possibilities are endless!

Remember that this writing group is open to all, and remember you have the choice to use the prompts – or not! Whatever floats your boat is fine by us. We invite you to join in the fun!

WANTED: YOUR CREATIVE INPUT!!

We want to feature different writers’ prompts in Year 15, but our supply of archived prompts is running low. We may have to start featuring participants’ topics/photos more than once per season if we don’t get some new ones from you. If you haven’t submitted recently, please send The Marvin House a direct message with your creative topics, bonus suggestions and royalty-free pictures! Send as many as you like, no limit. Remember to send prompts that will inspire our writers. Thanks!

When I come home at night
I bolt the door real tight
People call me on the phone I’m trying to avoid
Well, can the people on TV see me
Or am I just paranoid?

When I’m in the shower
I’m afraid to wash my hair
‘Cause I might open my eyes
And find someone standing there
People say I’m crazy
Just a little touched
But maybe showers remind me of
“Psycho” too much
That’s why!

I always feel like somebody’s watching me
And I have no privacy
Woh, I always feel like somebody’s watching me
Who’s playing tricks on me?

“Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell

Thank you for the great writes last week, it was so much fun reading about your best days!! This week we are diving into a very interesting topic, NOSY NEIGHBORS!!! Well, it does go with the territory. I’m sure all of you have experienced either having or being a nosy neighbor, so let the creativity flow! Or you can use those creative brains and make something up. This should be fun! So put pen to paper or get your nimble fingers typing – we can’t wait to hear your take on nosy neighbors!

Last week’s topic “Best Day Ever!” was submitted by Irene Melgoza! We thank you so much for your topic that inspired some very interesting, creative writing! We miss reading your writes!

Last week’s bonus prompts were submitted by Stormy Gail Dormire and Michael Wayne Engeseth! Thank you so much for your contributions! We appreciate you both!

Last week’s picture was submitted by Dahlia Ramone! Thank you, Earthling – your photo really embraced the essence of the topic!

Easy Bonus: Incorporate the phrase “by candlelight”

Blogs should be submitted on or before Midnight (EST), Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11 EST!! Please TAG Martien Ecrits by including his name within your blog content. In doing so, your blog will show up on his timeline. You may also post your blog link in the comment section below and/or post your blog link on the group Ecrits Blogophilia page.

There are no longer any guesses for the topic, bonus prompts or picture submissions, nor points awarded for any of these. As stated in our relaunch blog, the Blogophilia challenge has eliminated point scoring, tallying, tracking and awarding jackets. We have moved to a kinder, gentler blogging group that is no longer a competition based on points. Instead, we aim to be inclusive, collaborative and encouraging of writers!!

So what are you waiting for? Start Writing!!!
