Blogophilia Week 30.14 – Hope Springs Eternal

This is Ecrits Blogophilia Week 30 of our 14th year!

MARTIAN REQUEST FOR FUTURE POSTINGS:

1. Please tag Marvin by posting the link to your WordPress/Blogger blog either on Marvin’s Facebook profile or on the weekly challenge Facebook posts. These can be found both in the Ecrits Blogophilia group page or on Marvin’s profile and are pinned to the top of each. I have nearly missed some posts recently!

2. If you are posting your weekly challenge piece directly to Facebook either in a comment or your own post, please add a picture to your write (either the weekly picture or any of your own) so that I can link it directly to your write. Otherwise, the link will not go directly to your specific post, the reader will be taken to either my Facebook page or the Blogophilia group. Then they have to scroll to find your write, which you do not want.

3. Please send topics, bonus and picture prompts if you haven’t already!!! The Marvin house is still utilizing prompts that were sent by participants over the past 8 years. Let’s freshen things up and get some creativity flowing. You can send at any time via direct message to Martien Ecrits. Thanks!

You Earthlings rock – thanks so much!

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

– “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack

ATTENTION BLOGGERS: PLEASE continue to post the link to your blog on either the Facebook Martien Ecrits timeline or the Ecrits Blogophilia group!!!!!! Or post within Facebook if that is what works for you.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Whoops! Marvin made a little bit of a boo-boo last week when posting the link to the challenge. Within the Facebook post, we mistakenly put the prompts in for TODAY! (We try to stay a week ahead of things around here). HUGE thanks to those of you who caught this and immediately brought it to our attention – YOU ROCK! I guess there were clouds in our coffee, or else we had our head in the clouds!

So some of you may find today’s prompts familiar, but that’s okay. We at the Marvin house can’t wait to read what you’ve got in store this week. Remember, the topic and bonus prompts are provided for inspiration, they are not required since we eliminated the scoring component.

Last week’s topic “Clouds in My Coffee” was provided by Christine Wichman! Christine, thank you for taking us back to the 70’s music and inspiring many a creative write!

Last week’s bonus prompts were submitted by Colleen Keller Breuning and David Schrader! Thank you for your contributions last week!

Last week’s awesome picture was submitted by Dia Jade! Thank you for that beautiful photo that matched the topic perfectly! Looking at the beautiful clouds provided a moment of serenity, as well!

Remember that you can send in topics, bonus suggestions and pictures to me by direct message at any time. We will save this information and try to use different prompts from all participants. Be sure that the photos submitted are not copyrighted and are royalty free, or you can use photographs that you have personally taken. We will not use any photographs that suggest hate, discrimination, pornography, or other taboo subjects.

Ecrits Blogophilia Week 30.14 Topic:
Hope Springs Eternal

Hard Bonus: Use a line or quote by Walt Whitman

Easy Bonus: Include an aqueduct

Blogs should be submitted on or before Midnight (EST), Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11 EST!! Please TAG Martien Ecrits by including his name within your blog content. In doing so, your blog will show up on his timeline. You may also post your blog link in the comment section below and/or post your blog link on the group Ecrits Blogophilia page.

There are no longer any guesses for the topic, bonus prompts or picture submissions, nor points awarded for any of these. As stated in our relaunch blog, the Blogophilia challenge has eliminated point scoring, tallying, tracking and awarding jackets. We have moved to a kinder, gentler blogging group that is no longer a competition. Instead, we aim to be inclusive, collaborative and encouraging of writers!!

What are you waiting for? Start Writing!!!

There is a picture in the blog. Not sure why it isn’t showing up in the link 😦 Technical difficulties? Me and technology do not get along lol.
