Blogophilia Week 40.13 – The Day We Met

This is Ecrits Blogophilia Week 40 of our 13th year!

One Saturday I took a walk to Zipperhead
I met a girl there and she almost knocked me dead
please look at me

(Punk rock girl), what do you see?
Let’s travel round the world
Just you and me, punk rock girl

I tapped her on the shoulder
And said do you have a bell?
She looked
at me and smiled and said she did not know,
give me a chance
(Punk rock girl), let’s
go slam dance
We’ll dress like Minnie Pearl
Just you and me, punk rock girl

ATTENTION BLOGGERS: PLEASE continue to post the link to your blog on either the Facebook Martien Ecrits timeline or the Ecrits Blogophilia group!!!!!! We ask you do this each week, wherever your blog might be, even if it’s on WordPress and we are subscribed to your blog! The reason is we often get delayed notifications on WordPress, and have found it difficult at times to find some blogs. Facebook will continue to serve as a central landing page, this will ensure we don’t miss you. Also, Facebook readers are more likely to read your blog as well if you provide a link there. Thanks for your cooperation!

Happy December, Earthlings! The spirit of the holiday season is filling the air this week! Congratulations to Christopher Mitchell, who held on tight for the majority of Season 3 to become the Season Champion! Today he takes home two cozy jackets, in particular that coveted green Corinthian leather. That one will surely keep him warm during Georgia’s first cold snap as he works outside stringing Christmas lights! Lika Saliscente-Phipps races home with packages galore after a shopping trip, sliding into second place with a contented sigh. Christine Wichman and Stormy Gail Dormire are bustling in their kitchens, having decided to whip up an enormous Christmas feast for the Blogophilians (complete with bacon for Commander K and me)! Craig Fallon is playing bartender and shaking it up with some delicious cranberry mojitos for the entire gang! Irene Melgoza and Dia Jade are busy wrapping boxes and adorning them with festive bows! All of the Blogophilians are getting into the spirit of Christmas and the holidays! Well done, everyone! Special thanks to ALL OF YOU for hanging in there during this most challenging of years – especially with the move over to WordPress. YOU ROCK! And now, the slates are cleared, points roll into lifetime points as we begin our final season of Year 13! And the question on our minds is …. who will wear the jacket next week?

Last week’s topic was submitted by Lika Saliscente-Phipps!
Oh my! Lika kept a low profile this week, snuggling under the warmth of her Christmas quilts. Because she remained undetected by the gang, she hits the jackpot and takes home all 6 points!

Last week’s bonus suggestions were provided by Colleen Keller Breuning and Dahlia Ramone! They each receive 2 points for their contributions!!

Last week’s picture was submitted by Michelle King!
Christine Wichman and Christopher Mitchell took one look at the festive snowman and realized that Michelle had created this work of art! Was it Frosty’s banana nose, or his colorful buttons that gave her away? Either way, the 3 of them split the points, each of them picking up 3 additional points.

Martien’s secret picture bonus criteria was “Going Bananas!!!”
Woah! This alien would have thought more of you would nail the phrase (given the bananas kind of year 2020 has been)! But lucky for Irene Melgoza, she was the only one to hone in on that banana nose and conjure up the correct phrase of the week! She piles on all 6 points!

Now, isn’t that lovely?

    To The Emergency Room

The officers loaded their compadres onto gurneys and started down the hall. Immediately a dense haze like pea soup surrounded them. It smothered them with the perfume Obsession, dulling their senses. From out of a black thunder cloud came Betty Lou’s deranged laugh. With every cackle exploding sparks flew from every direction, burning and stinging the officers.
Just as they thought Betty Lou had won the mist and cloud disappeared. And the officers were able to get Chuck and McManus to an emergency room. Where the doctors told the group both men would be ok, but not for a long time.
Rory said, “ I am so glad to hear you say it doctor. McManus is my partner and we are connected at the hip. I just can’t lose him. From The Day We Met we’ve celebrated and remorsed our victories and defeats with a drink at MacIntyre Fine Wines. We’ve had a Meeting of heads with every case we’ve worked on. And he began to pour forth his tears like the bench fountain in the city park.
Everyone but Mintzy turned their heads. But She patted Rory’s shoulder and then said: “I’m so glad the boys are going to be ok. But while they are laying around like a couple of couch potatoes we’ve got to find Betty Lou. And why she just disappeared.
