Blogophilia Week 47.15 – Passion of the Soul

This is Week 47 in Year 15 of Blogophilia! We hope that all you Moms enjoyed some well-deserved pampering last week for Mother’s Day. Hope everyone is gearing up for a long holiday weekend starting later this week!! 😀

Somebody somewhere
In the heat of the night
Looking pretty dangerous
Running out of patience

Tonight in the city
You won’t find any pity
Hearts are being twisted
Another lover cheated, cheated

In the bars and the cafés, passion
In the streets and the alleys, passion
A lot of pretending, passion
Everybody searching, passion

Once in love you’re never out of danger
One hot night spent with a stranger
All you wanted was somebody to hold on to yeah
Passion, passion
Passion, passion

    Budding Hummingbird

Dangerous, the budding of a single rose

Blushed with crimson, but growing old

Awash in desire for something unknown

    Pink, elliptical, Elysium dreams

    Time goes by, blooming fades

Into wrinkle of petals brought on by and by

Desires thorn pricks the bleeding thumb

As twilight turns dark, as the nighttime comes

Sprinkled with knowing after erotic schemes

Hummingbird flutters, but flits away unseen

A ripe, bloodied, blossom shivers with fear

Clinging to the thorns, hiding in her tears

Yet passion still blooms in the hot August sun

A syllable, a flick of ecclesiastical song

As the heart does a pitter, a jerk, a jolt

Mortem in passione, the writer provokes

The Voice then whispers seductions vow

    Inciting metaphorical cramps to howl

Rip open the bosom of blossom to fly

Amidst flocking doves and cawing cries

She is not death, nor loss, adrift

Afraid of passion, a kiss, a lovers gift

    Yet, unbegotten, forgotten, blooming rose,

Strips her petals, spreads herself open, reposed

    Humming wings of long lament

Elevate her soul to existential bliss

Blooming bud, bleeds no more exposed

As thorns fall deeply onto forest floor

    Awaken the bleeding heart within

Let the song sing its pleasing, rhythmic refrain

Assist in the making of cleansing, healing rain

Let sleeping blooms keep, as wings flutter away.
